School Mission


 The Law School seeks to:

1.      Provide a distinguished level of legal education among its peers of Arab Universities, which meets international educational standards;

2.      Provide society with highly qualified and trained legal graduate, equipped with legal skills and research capabilities to satisfy requirements of the legal profession, with cross culture appreciation;

3.      Participate effectively in developing and spreading of legal education and awareness among all sectors of society; and

4.      Focus on faculty members’ development skills via encouraging and facilitating academic research.

 Objectives

    The Law School has drawn up the following objectives to fulfill its  mission:

1           Awarding a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) to its graduates.

2           Offering an academic syllabus including traditional, contemporary and comparative legal studies.

3           Designing appropriate curricula toward the preparation of highly qualified legal students capable of fulfilling professional requirements.

4        Optimally utilizing the teaching skills and training methodologies of theoretical, academic and practical aspects in educating students.

5        Serving other schools and colleges within the University through specialized and general course offerings to their students.

6        Maintaining a reasonable Faculty - Student Ratio (FSR) of 1:20

7     Emphasizing the importance of elective courses in order to broaden students’     legal education.

8        Adapting as many on-job training programs as possible, which are directed towards better qualification of Law students.

9        Providing full support of faculty members toward creative production and research writing in a sound and free environment.

10    Supporting academic research and faculty publications in various specialized legal journals.

11    Organizing and supporting academic conferences, forums, and seminars.

12    Building and facilitating academic exchange among faculty from Arab and International Law Schools.

13    Establishing a database of judicial principles and enhancing Arabic texts utilized for searching legal judgments (rulings).

14    Offering legal training courses to government employees, in order to enhance legal standards among state institutes.

15           Providing legal studies and consultations for various state institutions.

16     Developing legislations through faculty members’ participation in different legislatures committees.

17    Maintaining continuous and close relationships with the judiciary. *

2           Achieving the goals of justice via defending rightful causes.

3           Supporting the protection of human dignity and rights by defending human rights issues.

4           Expressing full commitment to professional ethics
